In 2000 the WoO turned Bristol Motor Speedway into Bristol Dirt Track speedway. It was a 1 off exercise. The place was just too fast, with speeds in excess of 170MPH........273 plus KPH.
How awesome does this place look as a dirt track.
The sprintcars were so much faster than the NASCARS and fearing at those speeds a car could clear the fence, the spectators were kept well away from the track.
The banking was so steep, the car on the outside is 2 cars higher than the car on the pole line......I've never seen any video of the show..must be amazing.
