How lucky were the Yanks back when drivers like A J Foyt, Andretti, Jones, Rutherford etc, would run a Midget Feature, next day go out and win the Indy 500, then back up the next day and win a sprint car Feature, in cars as pretty as this. The world is a different place now. Corporations and Insurance Companies would not entertain the idea for 1 second.

Most of the modern Indy racers wouldn't know what hit them if Donny,Steve or company put a slide job on them at Eldora or Knoxville.

Marie and I were at Surfers Indy some years ago watching Danny Sullivans crew work on the car when they spotted my Australian Sprintcar Title T-shirt ,with which they stopped work came over and asked about Australian Sprintcar racing.A comment along the lines of "now thats a real racecar"was one of the comments along with them telling us they get to the Sprints whenever time allows.Still thought a Champ Car going past at over 200mph was pretty impressive.
