Greg, I did the drive to Newcastle last Saturday to check out the Model Show. Too many trains there this year, however the hit of the day were the 1/6 scale RC WW2 German Tiger tanks. They were amazing and huge at 1373mm long, 622mm wide and 480 mm high. The weight can be up to 180 kilos, depending on how they are finished. They have sound cards installed to replicate all the noises that a real tank makes. They are made by a Company in the UK.The guy in the wheel chair has three of the tanks and sometimes races Bajas at Luddenham. I suggested that one day he might like to bring then to the Model Park and show the members and guests.

I WAS there on Saturday morning, arrived around 10:00 am and left about 1:15. The guys with the tanks was saying even the material is scaled to the correct thickness which explains the weight, cost just for the tank no radio gear is around $8000.00 complete close to $12000.00. I only saw 1 speedway display that was a Tattersall speedcar yellow No:3. The majority of the displays are always trains either running which are very well detailed, or parts and accessories. The only other radio controlled cars there were rock climbing 1/10th scale electrics.

Geez mate I was there at the same time. We must have walked past one another 10 times at least.I saw that beautiful yellow Tattersall midget..... very nice model. One of the guys that had a tank, reckoned he had $14000 invested? in his tank. Check out this YouTube video of the tank with animatronic drivers....

Gotta get ourselves organised a bit better!!
From what the tank guys were saying ,sounds about right $$wise. Also some very nice scratch built drag cars and motor bikes and engines on the same table as the speedcar.
