Today I received a call from Bill Drew, informing me that Jeff Griffith had a stroke last night. He is currently in Liverpool Hospital. Bill will keep me informed as to Jeff's condition, via Jeff's son Jason.

I spoke to Bill Drew last night, to inquire if he had heard any further news regarding Jeff's condition. He had heard no more news this week. We had both told Jason we would wait until he contacted us with any news, rather than constantly phone the family in this delicate time.
So that's where we are up to at this stage.

Spent a couple of hours with Jeff today. He recognised me as soon as I arrived. His wife Jenny, who also was there, told me he had just asked about me just before I walked into his ward. He speaks softly and with some difficulty. It's still early days, so no conclusions can be made on how he will fare down the track. He seems fairly positive about his future though, and told me where our seats are booked on the plane, for our trip to Tulsa Oklahoma next January.

Spent some more time with Jeff today. He looked much better today than last Monday. He had more colour and his eyes were more "sparkly". Even after some physio this morning, he stayed awake while I was there. His speak has slightly improved and his sense of humour is returning, with some cheeky retorts with the nurses. According to the staff at Campbelltown Hospital, Jeff has lost nearly 50 kgs, so that will take some work to recover.

Back to see Jeff today. GEEZ what a turn around in 5 days. Extremely cognitive, instigating conversation, talking a 100% better, good memory and real overall improvement. It was fantastic to see this change. He's complaining about the physio hurting, so that's a good thing. Reckons the nurses don't know what they are doing...LOL.

Saw Jeff again on Thursday. He's now on soft solid food and thick drinks, which would be a huge leap forward, after being drip fed through the nose for the last 4 weeks. Still having some hallucinations, however he is on a slow and steady climb in improvement. Still not much movement on his left side.

Yesterday Jeff was moved from Campbelltown Hospital to the Kilbride Nursing Home at Camden, where he will reside for some time. I didn't get to see Jeff yesterday as he was transported to the home 5 minutes before I arrived. Missed him by that much! May get to see him tomorrow.

hi Bob . it was sad to hear about jeff. on a good note he is recoving please tell Jeff that the Davis family is thinking of him and all the best for a speedy recovery
