I spent nearly a week in Barcelona, one month back. Two things grabbed me. Everyone and his dog rides a motor scooter. At every intersection, there is an area set aside in front of the cars, where scooters and bikes wait. When the light goes green, it's like the start of a MOTO GP, with all sorts of people, including young women in high heels, short skirts and skimpy tops, joining in the melee. It's a hoot. The other thing, was that many, many tens and tens of thousands of people, ride push bikes. Not one person wears a helmet and there is not intention to introduce this law. Wonder who has it right....us or them?

Jim, I'm doing OK. Some days I just cannot get out of my own way, but things are pretty good! I see that Larry Cross was sad to see you head back to Perth. You guys must be best mates now. How's Larry doing these days in Peebles? Ohio...have I got that right?

Next time you fill up, think about the people in the UK. Found this in my wallet on my return. I put 72 litres of diesel into my Jeep Grand Cherokee hire car. The cost was $2:30 a litre and that worked out at $165 and I still had 23 litres left to fill it completely. Total fill cost would end up at $220. Luckily the 3.0 Litre V6 diesel would return 1120 kilometres per tank. Fantastic I thought for such for a large truck. BTW...check out the VAT(GST)on the bottom of the receipt...20%
