First 1/4 scale track in NZ

After 2 years of planning, we have finally got a track underway here in New Zealand. Its located on the East coast of the North Island, about 5 minutes south of Hastings, at Bridge Pa.

We have a hard core group of guys that have put in the yards and got it to where you see it now. next weekend we hope to have 50 tonnes of a lime/clay mix down on it, and then we are almost ready to rumble!!!
Banking is about 10 degrees, the pole line is about 95 metres, in park like settings,a huge pit area and toilets and power close by.

Hi Gasman,

Great to hear you guys have got a dirt oval up & running.....all I need to do now is get on with my sprint car build & I can come play.....

Managed to get some fresh air down at the bay here in Timaru today snapped a couple of photos of the local inline skating rink - whenever I'm down there I always think what it would be like to run some RC cars on it - haven't asked but can't see it happening.

The aussie's came train here alot & must like it a lot as they had talked about holding their national champs here, Timaru is a hotbed for inline skating.

Updated pic. Just waiting on the new soil to go down. Finished fence and painted, will backfill the dirt onto fence to stop cars punching thru. Already had a baja on the top rail!

Hi guys. We just laid 40t of clay, lime mix which should give us a good racing surface. We have got on board the biggest RC Large scale supplier in NZ as a track sponsor. Some small stuff to finish off but hoping to run a testing session this weekend. So far I think we now have 8 dirt mods in HB, plus 4 sprint cars. They said build it and we will come, so we have and now we wait! Can someone from your club send us some pics of your track grader? We wish to build something similar...email: [e-mail]
