ECC rounds 3 and 4 are on the October long weekend 4th and 5th. Entrants from round 1,2,3 and 4 will decide the EC Champion for 2014. Racing will be run as in rounds 1 and 2 in Queenland,,,same specs same race rules.
After a meeeting yesterday with our ECC entrants we decided to run in tandum with the ECC a Sydney Challenge running the same rules and specs as per ECC with all SSME/LQSS classes. Four rounds and Finals both days, just LQSS will only have Trophys for the combined TWO rounds & TWO A Mains.
Sunday after both A Mains (ECC and SC) we will run a top 6 ECC and top 6 SC A main Feature. No Trophys for the Combined feature just bragging rights.
Cost will be the same for Sydney Challenge as for ECC. We need Nominations for the SC so we can organise Trophies. Entries close 18th September 2014 and we need more than FOUR cars to run a class.
Please Nominate ASAP

I would like to know why the ECC format was changed that you had to enter both QLD and NSW rounds to be eligible ? This dose not make sense when the number of entry's are down, how would it be for the WoO (over 350 have scored points) or WSS only be for those who had registered to run all rounds, where would the challenge be , the ECC should be open to ALL as it was originally set up may years ago. What will happen in the future when only 1 or 2 enter from one state and 10 from the other? GB

Geoff As per the meeting held last open day and discussed by our attending members on the day - the rules were set by the previous QLD president Mark Evans and Laurie had them for all to view. The rules stated that the entry fee was to be paid up front at Elimbah on the first day of the ECC at Elimbah. Why is it that we hold meetings to discuss things and then 3 weeks later you guys ask the question? ? We all wonder why we dont have national rules........................go figure? ??

My questions were why was the format changed and who decided this as this would appear that QLD decided without any discussion with NSW members prior to the start of the ECC 2014. Why was it even discussed at the last NSW open day as NSW members do not have to accept what QLD made up rules. As previously stated before the 2014 series I am not aware, I may be wrong there was no discussion of changing the ECC format, were they made at the end of ECC 2013 series. GB

My suggestion is for the ECC to have a two day comp in one state then the next year have it in the other state. This year is down on numbers because the Sydney guys pulled out at the last minute so maybe then more people can enter even if they only do their home event every second year and the keen guys can have more time to do state titles and nationals. Thats my thought just trying to keep the interest going for everyone. And also a State sheild for the winning State each year. Each State could pick a team to race against other States team just as something extra over the two days. Im sure this will get the ball rolling for ideas so lets see what people want to add and which State holds the next one.
