New Forum member and recent recruit to the old WCM sprint car owners club, Qlder Robbie Gunn, was telling me he first got interested in 1/4 scale sprinters way back in 1989. He and his son were attending the World Off Road RC Title at St Ives Showground. A 1/4 scale sprinter was on display during the course of the event. Robbie took some pics and the other day dragged them out and sent them to me. This is a CD Engineering sprinter. They were built by Chris Dalby with assistance from Geoff Doman, in Shepparton Victoria around the late 1980s and early 1990s. This puts these car right at the start of the 1/4 scale sprint car evolution. Brian Linigen has one of the cars in his vast speedway collection.

Jeff, This possibly is that track. Nobby, bless his soul, sent me these shots a couple of years ago and I cannot recall the exact details.Update....Just went back through my old posts and found this...
Thanks to Keith Noble from Adelaide, for these photos of what is probably the 1st 1/4 scale dirt track in Australia. It was on Geoff Doman's property in Stawell Victoria. BTW... Just got another email from Keith and he suggests these photos are from 1990.

As I mentioned previously, Brian Linigen has a CD Engineering sprinter in his speedway collection. Here is the car, 2nd from the right, when owned and raced by Malcolm Church.
Here is the same car at Linigen's Open day, a couple of years back.
