Jay, you need to understand the guy with the pile of sprintcars is a collector, not a retailer. If he chooses to keep them all, or buy more, that's his thing. It shouldn't have any bearing on what you do. Some could argue the same thing with your propeller collection. If it pleases him to have so many, then who are we to deny him that right. It is rumoured that another member of this board has 40+ quarter scale cars. Again, if that's his thing then so be it. You'll find one or two. They do come up for sale. Some people ask stupid money for them so you need to be careful with that though. You also need to be careful with buying one, because they are addictive.

Hi Jay What is it you would like to do with your 1/4 scale . One to race or one just to have and do as scale like your able and sit on the shelf. As there are alot of cars that look good from far but are far from Good and as DTW said they ask stupid $$$$ for them as well. So My addvice would be dont rush into it look around see what things and quality go for what $$$$and trust me you will find a gem it will just take some time.

Guys appreciate the advice and other points of view. Im not a collector of propellers they have their own purpose be it SAW, heat race, rough water, smooth water, rough water different hull, and motor combos. Looking for something I can race and to sit on the garage shelf when not in use.
Not bothered if it needs paint or the engine needs rebuild, or it needs work. once I hjave the basic car im happy to do the rest.
Like I said spoke with a couple of blokes and they were very helpful. Robhod was very helpful with his plate cars I was going to go down and have a look but I know what its like when your got a big meeting coming up theres nothing worse than being disturbed from your line of thought. You guys have been tops here and again I appreciate the info. I think im goiong to go don the road of a tube car but will look at anything
By the way...........
My avatatr photo is of one of the boats I built and recently sold. has an SS Zenoah engine from the sates, with a clutchless MHZ lower drive from Germany, and all the good bits in the radio box. That boat owed me $3500 once it was finished.

Mate if you can build a boat like that from scratch then you obviously have a bit of talent about you. I'll get you the measurements of a WCM in case you decide to go down the "owner built" route. If you can build that boat you could build a sprint. Do you have AutoCAD or do you just want photos with letters/numbers against all the bars and measurements in an attached legend? Dan

Yeah Mate I did. Had a gentleman by the name of Brett from LQSS contact me. He has what he was told is a MINIMAX with the chain drive set up. complete car less receiver for $1800. Once I get the car Ill do what I usually do. Strip it check it replace what needs replacing (fuel lines filter tank etc) and use it. Paints alright for now. Was more concerned about structural stuff more than anything. Looking forward to getting hold of it and getting dizzy. I suppose this means I need to build a slower boat for the pond...............

Good news. I believe they are Chromoly and very similar to the Terry Bennet BULLET car. That is the Blue car with the angle grinder drive?? if so will be a good car.

Rob Yeah thats what Brett said he was pretty sure it was chromoly chassis. Yes it the blue car with the grinder drive. Bretts a top bloke and so is everybody on here thats given me all the advice and points of view. A mates dad is retired and an old speedwayer from way back, and once he found out i was looking at them his eyes lit up and said "can i have drive". A few small things ill do to it to give it my own "cool" touches and make it a bit more scale looking but very happy with it . Brett was only to happy to help and answer questions. So Looks like I need to join the club. Pull the trigger, turn left, get dizzy and un-wind from turning right with the boats. At least it will even things out turning wise now. Now I need to start getting ratios, chains, wheels, wings body panels etc.

thats it. Might end up as belt drive. But ill run it first and see how it goes. Reason i bought it as i complete car was the engine i had arent legal (rcmk). So figured ill sell them and get it complete. Ill throw one of my spare receivers in it and use it.

Jay, It is like anything on computers...not very difficult when one knows how to do it! Probably take too long to explain here. Google "How to post photos" and that will assist you. I host my photos on Photobucket and upload them from there. Maybe check that site . We need more people posting pics! Any problems mate, give a call. BJ

BJ They usually have photo up load button written into to the codes of the site for the reply options on the threads. Sometimes when you post from other sites the disclaimers and naming conventions dont get converted especially if its in HTML format. Well all I didnt end up getting the car. I got shafted in a deal on a boat I built for a bloke. Im pretty PI55ed off about it to.I feel really bad as I was lined up for the car and feel that i stuffed brett around. So brett I apologise Im still keen on getting one but a few things have changed personally and really needed to trim in the spending.
