While on the way home from the Grand Annual Classic at Warrnambool, I stopped off at Avalon Speedway to check out the 1/4 scale track.Trevor and Joe Daley and I first visited the facility way back in Jan 2006 and had talks with promoter Jeff Drew about the possibility of running 1/4 scale sprintcars on the Junior Quarter Midget track. We put on a mobile display of sprintcars and midgets and Jeff was highly impressed. Shame it was just too far away to get anything concrete happening!
Back then it was just a track cut into the grass.
Today it's fenced and looks like this! Someone should get something going down there!
I'd reckon it's about twice the size of LQSS.
