There's lot of amazing gear out there. Yesterday someone grabbed this brand new WCM Super Mod of ebay. The Buy Now price was US$2500. It went for less than that and more than my bid, which was 600 short of the asking price.

THIS IS A NEW NEVER FINISHED WCM SUPER MODIFIED 1/4 SCALE KIT
THESE KITS CAME 99 PERCENT ASSEMBLED AND YOU HAD TO INSTALL THE RADIO, ATTACH WINGS, SIDE PODS AND RUNNING GEAR.
THIS CAR WAS SHIPPED FROM WCM 5/25/87 IT COMES WITH ITS FACTORY PULL SHEET
AND INSTRUCTIONS
THE CAR IT SELF IS IN AS NEW CONDITION AS IT WAS NEVER FINISHED
THE WINGS WERE STARTED AND ARE MOUNTED
THE TIRES ARE FRESH AND NEW NO FLAT SPOTS, IT HAS SPENT IT LIFE ON A STAND.
THE SIDE PODS AND RUNNING GEAR NEED TO BE INSTALLED. THEY ARE AS NEW.
THE ENGINE IS NEW AND HAS NEVER BEEN STARTED IT PULLS WITH THE PULL STARTED AS NEW(NOTE THE PRIMER BULB IS CRACKED FROM AGE AND WILL NEED REPLACEMENT)

Ebay got back to me yesterday and said the WCM Super went for US$1595, $300 under my bid. The Seller obviously would not entertain shipping to Australia and took the loss on the Best Offer....  I just cannot fathom some Americans.
Somebody got a real bargain there.

About 10 years ago I fell in love with these 2 cars.Two of the hottest 1/4 scale cars I've ever seen. I've owned the Phoenix Bullet( on the right) for a few years and was lucky enough to track down the Tom Hughes car a few months back. Through some kind and generous collectors in the USA, the cars have been reunited after nearly 2 decades apart.They now take pride of place in my collection. The cars are in the same condition as they were taken off the track in their last race circa 1999. A credit to the various owners, who have looked after the cars since then.

My 1/4 scale car collection now numbers 11. Finding the space to shoot them all together will be difficult. I live in an 135 year old, 2 story Terrace house with a not very large back garden.
Leave it with me and I'll see what I can do.
