The following Amca rules that were discussed between class members then discussed & ratified at the executive meeting in the green shed on 10/4/10.
Rules would become into effect from 1/1/11 & failure to comply will result in disqualification.
1. General:
(a) approved platforms are as follows
smartech/duratech/carson traveller/hobby pro mutilator 6 (note wheel spec below)/ harm/gb/dynamic.
(b) must be 2 wheel drive off road buggy.
(c) all measurements are measured refer clause 5.
(d) Alloy components "that resemble" commercially available parts & fitted to the approved vehicle are permitted.
(e) AMCA body must be fitted & manufactured to the current profile (as at 10/4/10).
(f) plastic body only, lexon not permitted.
(g) transponder, if fitted must be mounted centrally between the front wheels on the axle line.
2. Radio:
(a) Two channel 2.4 GHz controllers only permitted.
(b) no radio aids or enhancements are permitted.
(c) D boxes not permitted.
3. Engine:
(a) Must run standard motor, bore and crank case as supplied by manufacturer of vehicle.
(b) Allowable motors includes Zenoah, G230, G240, GD70, CY230 or Tech Reed Valve (GB) motors.
(c) Maximum engine capacity is 23cc.
(d) Must comply with manufacturer's specifications.
(e) Must have standard crank, piston and barrel supplied by manufacturer. Stuffed crank is NOT permitted.
(e) Porting or polishing is NOT permitted.
(f) 2 stroke only, normally aspirated.
(g) Standard carbies 813 and/or 613(choke removal permitted) to be used without further modifications.
(h) Boost bottles not permitted.
(i) Not standard air filter permitted.
(j) Recoil starter must be fitted and operational.
(k)
1. Non standard exhaust permitted.
2. Noise level shall not exceed 95 dba. Measures approx. 30 feet from the model using a device approved by the SSME.
3. Tuned pipes are permitted.
(l)
1. Engine kill switch must be fitted and operational.
2. Blue triangle must indicate position of switch.
(m) Clutch must be fitted and fully operational.
(n) Inlet manifold maximum 1"/ 25.4mm long.
4. Brakes:
(a) Must be fitted and fully operational.
(b) Must remain as supplied by Manufacturer.
(c) 4 wheel brake systems not permitted.
5. Model Dimensions:
(a) Maximum car width is 465mm measured to outside of tyres. Car must fit through control box measuring 465mm.
(b) Maximum wheel base is 495mm.
6. Wheels and Tyres:
(a) Standard nobby tyres from the approved vehicle list only permitted.
(b) Hobby Pro Mutilator 6 Factory Tyres NOT permitted.
7. Wings:
(a) Must be Smartech Traveller only.
(b) Must be fitted in standard mounting position.
8. Weight:
No weight restrictions apply.
9. Driveline:
(a) Two wheel drive only permitted.
(b) Single speed gear box only permitted.
(c) Gear ratio not restricted.
(d) Differential must remain operational at all times, modifications and or friction enhancing are not permitted.
(e) Locked diffs are NOT permitted.
10 Front Axle:
Not Applicable( Std only)
11. Suspension:
(a) Standard shock mounting points to be used.
(b) Shock absorbers and springs from approved vehicle list only permitted.
(c) Shock oil is not restricted.
12. Fuel Tank:
(a) Must be securely mounted within the body of the model.
(b) Must be constructed from a leak proof material.
13 Fuel:
(a) Unleaded and leaded fuel only permitted. Must be available from local service station from the pump.
(b) Suitable 2 stroke oil only additive permitted.
(c) Methanol, Nitro, Non Commercial after market fuel, Avgas etc are not permitted.
14 Crash and Nerf Bars:
(a) Front bars are not permitted. Original bar only permitted or Smartech.
(b) Side Bars are not permitted.
(c) Rear Bar to remain standard. (Note: Smartech does not have one).
15 Race Numbers:
(a) Must be 65mm high and 45 mm wide.
(b) Must be fitted to both sides of the car.
(c) Must be in contrasting colour to the cars bodywork.
(d) The number should be preceded by your State or territory letter. Eg. N = NSW.
16 Homologation:
(a) Any new engine must be approved prior to use in any Race Meeting.
(b) Any other commercially available buggy that meets this class specifications must be presented to the AMCA Class rep. for approval prior to racing. It will be then decided by a vote of all current class members for inclusion into this class.
17 Inspection:
(a) LQSS officials retain the right to inspect any model within the LQSS Section if it feels that the model does not comply to the rules of its class.
(b) Models may be inspected prior to entrance to a major meeting.
(c) Models may be inspected after the completion of a final race on the day, the number of models inspected will be at the discretion of the officials in charge.
Anything not included and detailed in these rules and specifications is deemed to be illegal.
Written requests with all backing documentation, drawings, pictures, items etc must be submitted to the LQSS Technical Committee for evaluation and technical clarification.
All will then pass onto the standing committee members to vote to put it to the relevant class members, for a vote, if it is deemed to be in the interest of the class.
When vote is in favour of the issue it will be included in these rules and regulations.
This procedure must be finalised prior to implementation of any race meeting.
