Back in the day, the Offenhauser was the motor of choice in speedway racing. From midgets, through sprintcars and dirt champ, to Indy, the name was on the side of all these cars. I walked out of my hotel in Frankfurt to see this parked across the road ......what the......an Offenhauser bus...

Working from a very unsure(once I would have been sure lol) memory I think it was an ex Mike Mcgreevy Offy driven in Australia by Barry Watt one of the smoothest operators ever to come out of Qld.Barry was considered by many of us as the Northern States Peter Cunneen.Funny how time makes us unsure of something we would have known in a flash.
