This afternoon I received an sms from Allan Laspina telling of the very sad news that Deano passed away last evening. I would suggest that all the members of the LQSS @ SSME are better people for having known this amazing young man, with a cheeky grin who obviously thoroughly loved his time racing 1/4 scale speedway. Allan said that he always recalled the fantastic times he enjoyed at Luddenham.
We'll miss you Deano, my friend....

Thanx Hutcho, and all....its been very hard loosing Dean,but so proud of him and all he has done in his short life.Am aslo sure he touched so many,such a beautiful man,cheers and thanx Anne and Tamara.

More Deano.......
Who can ever forget Mal Paton spraying Champagne over Dean after he had won the 2005 Australian Midget Title at LQSS. Dean felt like he had just won a Grand Prix.......wonderful memories.

Deano is one of those special people you meet in life.
Im very honoured to have meet such a person.

Over our many years in Speedway I have met many good people and young Deano was up there with the best.I remember the trip to Victoria a few years ago when we all had a ball and Deano was in it up to his eyeballs.His pride and enjoyment when he won his Australian Title was also one of those great moments we have in our sport and the smile was stuck on his face for weeks.I spoke to Dean at TPCR during the season and he was still having a great time enjoying his love of speedway.To all the Laspina family we are thinking of you in this tough time but you can take solace in the fact Deano is in a better place.Rip Dean.Graham and Marie Daley.

Deano was a tough young guy, on and off the track. I'll never forget his effort at Whittlesea Vic, 2005 nationals against 25 of the top quarter scalers in the country, qualifying straight into the 'A' main and running 5th for memory. Also winning the inaugural Australian Speedcar Title the same year!! Deano was on fire!!
He will be sadly missed around the ovals, and it has been a pleasure knowing a fine young gentleman.

What a sad, sad day. Deano, mate, you are an absolute legend. I use to look forward to going to the track because i knew my mate Dean would be there. Ever since that you have always been a good mate, and even though in recent time we havent talked much, you will always be a good mate. Just remember, one day we will all be there to join you. So in saying that, see ya then mate. RIP

thank you so much Bob was so good to see you at Dean's Funeral today,was a hard Day for everyone, but made a lil easier seeing so so many ppl say their goodbye's to a Truly amazing young man who will never be forgotten.......Anne
