Hi guys,
Arrived in Moscow this morning at 5:00am.....by train. How lucky am I that 9 weeks ago I booked train travel from Helsinki to St Petersburg, Novgorod and Moscow. So while the rest of the nothern hemisphere ground to a halt, with no planes flying, I sipped vodka on trains... ;D
Although.... we are booked to fly from Moscow to Sydney on Monday and Emirates cannot or will not... confirm our flights as yet...

Hi Bob: I hope you're enjoying Russia, it's one of my favourite places, I have fond memories of the many years I lived there. Russian trains, I just love 'em.
Will you have any time in Dubai or do you have an immediate connector flight back home?

Hi Kevin,
You're right....The trains can be AMAZING in every sense of the word...   ...and the Moscow METRO is fantastic. Some of the stations are works of art in themselves.
I will be in Dubai for as long as Emirates Airways wants me to be....still not sure of final flight details.

The only RC stuff I've seen was when the train from Budapest to Vienna slowly went past a field with a wind sock. Wind sock I thought .....Sure enough ..a few seconds later a largish RC plane took off from a bunch of about 10 planes.

How's this...
Watching CNN news on Moscow TV last night and the lead story is about the biggest sporting scandal of the year...the Australian NRL.
The Melbourne Storm Cheating....."The f#*&in' what " I said out loud. Story went on for about 5 minutes. The biggest..... story on the news all night.
Just an aside ...CNN is the worst News programme with the worst presenters I've ever seen. EVER....still it and the BBC have kept me in touch I suppose.

I work with a guy from Adelaide, every time I hear some news about Melbourne I pass this 'home town news' on to him. He goes ballistic at the mention of Melbournbe, ...... mmm, is there some kind of rivaly between these cities? don't worry Bob, I got stuck in poland last week with my mate,
we ended up buying a small car and 21hrs later of driving and a ferry ride we got back to london for work.
Talk about road trip.
