Its great that we have a forum and that we have moderators to control what is said but I don't believe that it is being used to solve or discuss problems in the club.
For instance I don't belive that someone should just pick up their ball and go home without it being discussed openly. If it is not discussed then ugly rumors and petty hatreds start which is not good for anyone.
Now I may be wrong but I believe that this is what happened with Peter and why he has sold all his gear. It is not fair that such a respected and hard working member should just quit like that without any discussion.
I may also be wrong on this point also but I have allways believed that a forum is a place for discussion and with the moderators assistance to solve problems.
Lets have the guts to discuss problems openly on the forum without causing a s#@% fight and prevent losing any more members from active participation in the club.

Peter will be sadley missed at the track, when he sold his amca and buggy it was to finance buying his sprinter and sedan. I thought he was just selling again to upgrade his gear.

Hi all as you can see i am a new member to this forum and although i dont live in nsw i am very interested in building a sprint car.i have scaled the drawings of the 1/18 dumsney car i have and then posted on your forum for some help in verifying measurements and help. i waited and waited finally got an email from bob who could not realy tell me any thing.know surely some one could measure there car for me and help out. i am a member of other forums as i am almost finnished building a morris minor ute with datsunrunning gear etc etc and a lot of this was helped by people unknown to me on forum from all over this country.with this forum it is like the secret service, this is a hobby not a busines empire.very disapointed, have found the outlaw site and a guy on there has allowed me to visit his home and check measurements and what ever i need i the way of info.for the good of the sport i feel you need to start helping people out with info and less drible on this forum. if you wish i dont come on this forum any more just say the word or take me of i am sure the administrator has the power. Hello Gary I too am a new member of only twenlve months and the only thing that I can agree with you is that it is a HOBBY. I noticed your post of July 7 and obviously you are used to prompt service.
Every question I have asked has been answered, maybe I could recommend as I did, go to the meets near your home and talk to people face to face and look for yourself. Many of your questions are in club specs, look in NSW and WA sites, there for all to see.
If you paid for something and was dissappointed I can understand, but how can you dump on the general public for getting free advice too slow.
Poor sign of respect if you ask me.
Wish you all the best in your future.

Gary, Sorry that my e-mail reply was not what you wanted or required. I try to reply, to the best of my ability, to every e-mail I receive and mate, that's quite a few, from all over the world, every day. I could have gone and measured my chassis, and I apologize that I didn't. My mistake! I'm happy that Dave was able to assist you more than I was. Good luck with your sprintcar, Bob J Sydney....

Gary,
I am a member of the Penfield club and have had assistance from people involved in 1/4 scale sprintcars from all around Australia. I have found the members of the LQSS club and forum to be very helpful and I know they have gone out of their way to offer everyone they can the help that they need.
I'm sorry that you have not found your experience on this forum a pleasant one but please believe me when I say these boys & girls are very passionate about their sport and are willing to assist new members. I do not think your comments are warranted or deserved.
Hopefully I will see you on Sunday at the Penfield Open Day so we can continue this discussion.
Kristen Smith Sprintcar #56.

Hi just to clarify what i did. I have NOT sold my gear. After several discussions with some members from the Ssme 1/4 scale section i renigged on the sale of my cars. I will however not be racing whilst it is not in my opinion FUN to warrant driving 5 hours not to have a pleasant nights racing. You have to remember that these are only TOYS and that is how they should be looked upon.. I will not air my personal thoughts on here. But if anyone wishes to call me on 0404 214177 i will be only to happy to talk to you.. Thanks Peter Rodger

Bloody great news. Glad to hear that you are still with us Peter.
All that I am trying to say is lets use the forum to air our opinion in a gentlemanly fashion just has you have just done. We are all of the same opinion so we should talk about it.
You all know that I am outspoken and for those who do not want to discss their problems on the forum then we should have a meeting at the track to clear the air, but remember if people do not speak up then problems will just continue to smoulder.
Jose opened my eyes when he said that we are just a bunch of kids playing with toys, he was right and I for one was guilty of having a more serious approach to racing.

Hi all hope you will still talk with me.the reason i had my spit was the fact that approx 194 people had looked at my post on the chassis and bob was the only reply. this is a forum where we are ment to help each other in our hobbie and not email the reply. in other forums that i have used building the morris there are stickys telling people how to build hot rod etc etc from the first bolt to the last bolt and every thing in between. i wrongly asumed that this forum would be the same.surely there is some one on here that could start a thred on the complete build of a sprint car or what ever they are building in 1/4 scale or is every one buying there cars. i am not of that nature i love the idea of doing as much of the work myself and if it takes 12months or so that is life it is a hobbie.and yes i will join the penfield club and yes i would be only to happy to help others out with info that i possibly gain from this project. like i said i am not p**s*d of just cant understand why no help was forth coming thank you gary

This forum was never mean't to solve or discuss problems, thats to be done at meetings at the track. It's mean't for the promotion of quarter scale racing, information & positive comment. Remember future members read this site, and lately it has become an embarrassment to our club!

Hi,
I am new to this site and I must say I have been helped by several people on here. Someone had mentioned in this post about posting a build thread on these cars. I think it would be a great idea! The reason I think that is because I also belong to a r/c trucking site that deals with 1/14 and 1/16 scale r/c big rigs and construction equipment.
It is very helpful when people post there builds. I understand that racing these things is a different story because people like to keep there set ups to themselves just like any other racing but when it comes to building it is nice to have input from others as far as measurements and pic's as to how some things are done.
Not trying to step on anyones toes just putting the idea out there.
Thanks Brian

just a note to Gary...I too am a newbie and looking for as much info on the cars and would like to build some parts and make drawings with dimensions for those have that ability. I am one of those who probably looked at your post many times but do not have anything yet to offer. I am buying a used car that I hope will educate me exponentially. These guys have really been helpful in pointing me in the right direction as far as getting general info. I hope things will change for you and I think the idea of a build thread would be great also. I have so many questions and I am not sure who all has the answers. Good luck with your car. Hope I can help in the future with something. I have many components modeled in 3D, just not sure of exact dimensions. I'll get there eventually.
