dtw..noted Western NSW 1/4 scaler, certainly has some amazing material on his hard drive.This is the lastest material he sent to me. What a piece of work this is!!!
RIGGLE Engine and 1/4 Scale Midget Race Car, Engine Designed and Built by Jim Riggle, ND, mid 1980s. Jim's custom 4-cylinder, water-cooled DOHC mono-block engine sports pressurized dry-sump lubrication. It utilizes a peristaltic oil pump, water pump, and fuel pump and it burns methanol on spark ignition. The engine proved to produce 4.5 hp at 15,500 revolutions per minute. Jim could break the tires loose at any speed[/b] BTW....who can describe in 25 words or less how a peristaltic oil pump works...

Thanks to Dan Wilson for 2 more shots of the stunning Riggle midget. Looks like Mr Riggle has been tinkering with the right side of the motor in these 2 pics.
